Economic Development Planning & Implementation

We work with municipalities and associated nonprofits to leverage existing resources, subsidies and other programs to identify and implement priority projects that simultaneously stimulate business creation and improve conditions for residents and visitors.

Real Estate Development Consulting

Work with clients from site selection, to deal structuring, to budgeting, to subsidy/tax exemption identification and application we work with clients and associated professionals (attorneys, accountants, other consultants) on all aspects of a real estate development project. We enable property owners and real estate investors to become developers.

Grant Writing and Grant Administration

We prepare grants through the New York State Consolidated Funding Application and grants to foundations and other funding sources as appropriate. We also provide grant administration services to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations associated with grant awards.

Land Use, Housing, and Community Planning

The staff at Urban Vantage have extensive experience with land use planning and zoning, including traditional, hybrid, and form-based zoning codes. We have also worked on housing studies and strategies at both the neighborhood and municipal level. Through our affiliate, Mixed-use Vehicle LLC, we provide a bold and personal public engagement approach.

Village of Fredonia

Urban Vantage is proud to be providing municipal planning and grant administration services to the Village of Fredonia. On behalf of the Village, Urban Vantage has been managing numerous projects including streetscape redesigns, opera house renovations, park improvements, and main street grants. Additionally, Urban Vantage provides planning and strategic development advising for the village.

Northern Chautauqua County Community Foundation

We are working with the Community Foundation in Northern Chautauqua County on a new initiative to identify priority projects and programs recommended in past planning efforts. We are developing strategies for how to best implement these projects across the 13 municipalities within the planning area in addition to regional projects. We are identifying projected costs, locations, timelines, design features, and most importantly, the most appropriate funding source for each project. We hope this initiative will lead to others like it, closing the gap between Planning and Project Implementation.

Black Rock Freight House

We are working with Common Bond Real Estate, The Frizlen Group, and BDR Construction on the adaptive reuse of the New York Central Freight House at 68 Tonawanda Street in Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood. The $9 Million project will convert a large, underutilized industrial building to about 3,400 square feet of commercial space and over 30 apartments. We are working with the development team on the Historic Tax Credits, Brownfield Tax Credits and Better Buffalo Fund applications for the project.
